Jordan Christianson

Tea Dance

Artist Statement

Inspired by a centuries-long secret, "Tea Dance", a transferware pattern designed by Jordan Christianson, explores feelings from the time when the LGBTQ community was forced keep their romance and affections to private homes or speakeasies for fear of being outed or arrested. Remixing both traditional, vintage decals and creating his own, this series is presented on a service for four, and porcelain cabochons.
