Antique Civil War-era Bread Board
Antique Civil War-era Kitchen Bread Cutting Board once owned by Elizabeth McCright Bigham (1837-1915) of Greenmont, PA.
Although not enhancing this bread board's function at all, it should be known that Elizabeth McCright Bigham was wife to Sgt. H. Paxton Bigham of Company B, 21st Pennsylvania Cavalry, who is notable for guarding President Lincoln during his brief yet historical stay in Gettysburg.
Heavy wear from use, although still perfectly suited for the task of cutting bread or as a serving board.
